Racism! Seriously?

The week has been raging with all of the racist comments that have been in the news. But are these comments really racist? Harry Reid, senate majority leader, made a comment about Obama's victory in the elections for 2008. Reid voiced that the only reason Obama is popular, was because he is a "light skinned" African American with no negro dialect. The press dismissed this statement and Harry Reid himself as "racist". It seems as if politicians would think before they speak, but then again, shouldn't the press? This constant view of everything being racist is truly getting out of hand, and one day, we will plunge into a state of insanity and live once again as barbarians. While it may be crude to be racist, it is also uncivilized to falsely accuse someone or something of being racist. Personally, I think it's bizarre! Harry Reid's comment may have been slightly insulting, but true? Yes. Should he have said it? No, he should have kept it to himself. I may be a proud republican but I do believe that the President is our leader, and he deserves respect from his followers. But making Reid's comment this big of a deal was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. Ridiculous! And then don't forget about James Cameron's popular new movie Avatar. Avatar has reached number two in the box office. Titanic, Cameron's most well known production is at number one. In Avatar the hero is a "white" man that saves the small civilization in the jungle. Apparently, because the hero was not of another race, this movie has been labeled racist! Crazy as it is, it's all true. People who have nothing better to do, sit at home and write off certain things as racist! For publicity, maybe? I think today, in modern day society, we are much too cautious about racism. We are constantly watching, and waiting for someone to make a racist comment about the Blacks, Asians, or Mexicans. It's absolutely inappropriate. Harry Reid isn't racist, and neither is Avatar! The unnecessary racist accusations should be exterminated. Rumors do nothing for you! Maybe, some of us can learn how to become sophisticated human beings and not throw racist accusations towards the truth!

It's Time for a Change...a Confusing one.

There are so many things in life that can hold a person back. For me, there is only one that appears evident to me. The fear of striking out. And when ever I experience this, life only becomes more and more confusing. Eventually, the time for a change will come.
While all of these things are plundering through my mind, I can only come to one conclusion; life is so confusing! There isn't enough money in the world that someone can offer to ease my confusion and life complications. It is "simply" confusing. And while it is complex, for once I plan to offer advice to overcome confusing, complex situations in my post.

Step 1 of getting through a complicated, confusing situation is to think it through only once! Thinking it through, going over it inside your head, reviewing the situation constantly only causes more confusion. It's the first step in getting out of the bundle of hay that's suffocating you, and causing you to hallucinate. Think it through ONLY ONCE, and you are one step closer to solving your confusing problem. Slowly go over the events in your head, review your feelings, and thoughts about the circumstance. Pay close attention to details as well!

Step 2 is to release your feelings. If you want to cry, then cry. If you want to scream, then scream. Take a deep breath and just let it all out. Clear your mind of the burden and tell yourself that it no longer matters. It takes bravery and courage to emotionally move on from a confusing situation, and releasing your feelings is a healthy way to implement that next step.

Step 3 is the most important step of them all. Do something you love! If it's taking a walk with the dog then grab the leash and be on your way. If it's spending time with family then order out for pizza and pop in a family friendly DVD (personally I like Marley and Me). And if you just want to take some time off from people for the moment, then run down to the Fresh Market for some sushi, and come home and read a book. Whatever you need should be available to you, but appropriate as well. This step will take your mind off of the stress and workload of confusing unfortunate events. It allows you time to heal yourself, and become whole, and fulfilled once again. It also gets you back into daily activities other than lying in bed all day worrying about what may become of your situation. Relaxation, only more vigorous, is the key!

While I have tried to sooth your endless confusion that you encounter in your everyday life, I alone can never do so. Your own personal effort is needed to solve your problems, and find a solution to complex circumstances. Find yourself, and think less of your confusing situations! It's hard moving forward, but sometimes, when life catches up to you, you're forced to stumble upon new mistakes, and of course, more confusion. Don't be afraid of the future, for it is the key to reality! Live free today, and more tomorrow, and there will never be a doubt in mind!
